Aldo Cruickshank

Aldo Cruickshank is a singer/songwriter from Glasgow who is currently head roadie/guitar tech with The Proclaimers. His debut album Lucky 23 was recorded in Glasgow in 2007 but was only released in 2010 after it was rediscovered by The Proclaimers on the tour bus. Garry John Kane the Proclaimers bass player and founder of button up RECORDS heard it, loved the tunes, re-mastered it and subsequently released Lucky 23 on all legal digital download sites and as a limited edition cd.

The songs on the album Lucky 23 are written about the love Aldo has for his family, his travels with the Proclaimers and his love for the city of Glasgow. Aldo has also drummed in selected bands over the last 10 years in between roadcrew duties for The Proclaimers, which has been non-stop for the last 7 years.

Lucky 23 was produced by David Whitelaw in his Glasgow studio with guest appearances by Stevie Christie (keyboards with The Proclaimers), Brendan O'Donnell (bass vocals, Hue and Cry), Susan Nisbet (backing vocals), George Tucker (electric guitar, The silencers) and Stuart Nisbet (pedal steel, The Proclaimers). The 7 tracks on the album are all written by Aldo and display a diverse style of musical influences that combine to create a timeless recording. Now sit back, relax and enjoy!
